There are many things I will miss about Davis, so this is definitely not a complete list. This also isn't even a list of the things I will miss most because my puppy definitely takes all of those spots, but I am not going to post a picture of him up here. So this is just a list of some of the things that I have been doing around Davis in the recent years that I am going to miss not being able to do. So here we go with #7:
I started running races in Davis recently and it has been something that I became very dedicated with so I am definitely going to miss it. I ran the Labor Day race, the Turkey trot, Octobrewfest, the lucky run, and just a couple of weeks ago I ran a half-marathon in the Moo-light race. Yupp, I am definitely going to miss hanging out with all of these pre-race weirdos:
Although there are plenty of other cities where you can go to run races, I feel the Davis ones are just different for a lot of reasons that I cannot explain. But for one, the races are all very well done and occur quite frequently (almost monthly), and unlike others I have participated in which have over 10,000 people, Davis races are not overly crowded. There are still a lot of people who participate in Davis, but you will always see a face that you recognize and you can always get a parking spot, and plenty of free leftovers once the race is over. It is an experience that I will definitely miss but I am grateful I got to participate and enjoy several great runs while I was here. If you are interested in checking out any of these races you can view the Change of Pace website for more information.
Another great perk of all these races is they give out awesome medals, some for just participating. So they make me feel super special :)
