Griffith Observatory

Our class took another field trip today to the Griffith Observatory. Since I had been here before I was not super excited to go back, but that was before I knew that they had a Tesla coil on display. I watched a documentary a while back on some of Tesla's inventions and it was so amazing to see this in person. The coil was used to light up the letters in Tesla's name, and the coolest part is that those fluorescent tubes are not connected to anything. Pretty crazy.


The rest of the Observatory was very memorable as well because it was such a gorgeous day. Here is a picture of our teacher pointing out some of the interesting sites in Los Angeles:
