Adventures in Silver Lake

To continue our one month celebrations my friend and I decided to try going out in Silver Lake this weekend. Having never been there before we googled a few places and found a really great bar to start at. We took a cab over there and he dropped us off a little bit down the street because there wasn't any parking out front. So we got out of the cab and started to walk down the street in a really quiet residential area with no people out at all. We ended up walking past the bar twice before we finally realized that yupp, that was it. It was a tiny little shack built out in front of a house with no windows or lights or any sound coming from it at all and the door was padlocked shut.

So we decided this was probably not a bar that we actually wanted to go into so we walked a little ways to the main street to find an establishment with actual people in it. Luckily the place we found had a really nice bartender who told us where to go next. And I took my first ever pickleback here, a shot of whisky and a shot of pickle juice. So good!

It was quite a good celebration considering how we started the night out, and we somehow managed to end it at a gay club.
