Architecture Tour

We finally got to go on a worthwhile fieldtrip this week, and actually no one got hurt!
Our teachers led us on a tour of downtown LA architecture to many of the most famous buildings in the city. We saw quite a few but I don't want to over load this post with too many pictures so I will just include two of my favorites.

This is the Bradbury building built in 1893. Even if you haven't been here in person, this may look familiar because it has been the set for many movies, including blade runner. This building features an inner courtyard with skylight and a beautifully detailed Spanish style. It was absolutely breathtaking to walk into the building and the picture really doesn't do it much justice.

Next, this is the Metamorphosis building built in 2004. I don't know much about it but it has a lot of interesting details to the design and a very industrial feel to it.

One of my favorite parts about the building is its inner courtyard which has a whole wall lined with neon lights. Not only do the lights look interesting, the buzzing you hear when you stand underneath them gives you quite a unique experience.
