Other Spacesuits

Went to a workshop at school today to hopefully get me inspired and to learn some new things. It was taught by a visiting professor at our school who is working on a project involving the spacesuit. During the workshop the goal was to create another version of our own hand, or a spacesuit glove.

We started out by casting the groups collective hands using a caster mold.  So we mixed the stuff up and then we all stuck our hands in a box at the same time and held for about 5 minutes until it was dry. This was absolutely terrifying because we were all packed so closely together and I was absolutely terrified that my hand was not going to come out and we were all going to be stuck there forever. But phew, it did! Hopefully I will get a picture of our finished casting soon.

Anyways after that we all took measurements of the hand we created in the box and then made our other glove. Here is my final version: 

It's an alien glove! I don't know why but I am very proud of this. Whether or not it's any good this was a fun workshop, and note to self I need to do more of these!
