VDL House

During our day of fun activities on Sunday we got a private tour of the VDL house from our professor. This house was built by architect Richard Neutra in the 1930's and it's where he lived, worked, raised his children, and where he is buried.

The house was mainly experimental where Neutra tested radical architectural ideas at the time such as glass corners, open staircases and built in furniture.

It was beautiful and a really cool piece of history to experience. It was also fun to meet the family that currently lives in the house and has worked to restore it for many years. I wouldn't mind living in a deceased famous architects house! It would kind of creep me out to know he is buried out in my backyard though...
