Kicked Out

Officially got kicked out of studio today since I have finally graduated. It was a little bit bittersweet packing up all of my stuff for the last time. Now I just have to find a place to put it all...

Goodbye studio!

Graduation!

Graduation came and went so quickly! The weather was probably the complete opposite as my UC Davis graduation... I guess I just have bad luck. It was about 107* for Davis and for this graduation it was pouring rain in the morning. Luckily it had stopped raining by the time the ceremony started but I still seriously regret waking up early to make my hair look nice. There was really no point.

But overall it was a great day and the ceremony went very well.

Model Finals

After the craziness of finals was over I took some decent photos of my models so I wanted to post them here.

They have already started to fall apart so I wanted to get some nice photos of them to remember them by. Of course I'm still keeping the models as some lovely decorations for my apartment but not sure how many moves they will be able to survive. These really don't travel so well.

DONE!

I cannot believe it is over! I waited around the entire day to present... because of course I had to be the very last person to go. The presentation went well, I got no negative comments so that was good.

The models held up and luckily no one wanted to pick them up.

Overall the day was great and I am very sad to see it all be over and done with but I think I will be happy once I'm employed and can finally start doing something with my life! Hopefully I won't be going back to school anytime soon.

The night before....

I started pinning everything up at 4pm today...

And six hours later it was all done.

I cannot believe it is all done. What a relief. Now just have to make it through tomorrow!

Flip, flip, flip!

It was quite an exciting night tonight for our architecture courtyard! One of our fabrication classes designed a 10ft diameter concrete dome... that had to be flipped to finalize the structure.

So we all watched and waited for three hours while the 1,000 lb dome was flipped by human power. It was a pretty exciting ordeal.

I of course was just watching and not helping at all. I'm going to need my hands and feet for thesis presentations! The flip was a total success and the structure survived.

Foam Base

Final models are almost done!! I CNC cut the final base today out of foam... now on to making it not look like foam...
