High school students with no jobs, or really no lives, started lining up on MONDAY for a movie that started on FRIDAY at midnight. This is absolutely insane. This is a picture of how many people were at the theater Monday night. It was also freezing cold that night, so i'm sure they had lots of fun.
By the time Thursday rolled around the line had already wrapped around the entire theater once. To get this spot near the dumpsters behind the theater, you had to start lining up at 5am Thursday morning.
The line got longer and longer as the day progressed. It started wrapping down 2nd street, and last I heard it went all the way down to Uncle Vito's. There were so many people out, and so many weirdo's dressed up in costume that it attracted every news crew in the area. Newscasters were walking around interviewing people and helicopters were constantly flying over.
I got in line at 5pm (sadly, I have a job and can't camp out at the theater for days) and still got a really good seat. So really was it worth it to camp out for a week just so you could be the first one into the theater? The movie was amazing however, definitely worth the wait. Go see it in 3D so you can get cool Harry Potter glasses (worth the $15.25!!) Harry Potter has ended, no more midnight premiers. I'm not sure what all these people are going to do with their lives now. Maybe they should consider getting jobs.
