What a Zoo

The animals are going nuts in Los Angeles! I was on my nightly run in Burbank and I literally ran right into a pack of 8 wild coyotes just hanging out in the neighborhood. It was pretty scary because there were so many I felt trapped but luckily some cars drove by and managed to disperse them enough so I could pass, but after a little baby ran past me on the street trying to get back to the rest of the pack. Apparently the drought has made the coyotes come down from the hills to try and find food and another Los Angeles neighborhood has spotted a LION roaming the streets. So what am I going to see next, an elephant??

Luckily these animals are not alive. I recently visited the La Brea tar pits for the first time since moving to LA. They are located a short walk away from my office so it was a fun lunch break. They smelled absolutely terrible and it's actually really weird that you can constantly see bubbles coming up to the surface. I was really worried I was going to drop my phone in there. They have uncovered so many fossils here though it's ridiculous and it was really quite beautiful and a fun place to walk around.

I'm definitely going to stay away from these animals though. And probably also find a new running route.
