Today marked probably the worst day for us as a group so far, and hopefully it can't get worse from here!
I woke up early to work on the blog because this is possibly the last day I will have reliable internet on this trip and we had work to do cleaning our house in Roppongi! I am very sad to leave this place, I had been looking forward to living in a house all together with our group for months before the trip and now it's all over! We are now moving to our last accommodations on our trip as a group in Ikebukuro. We had a little break for lunch as soon as we got to Ikebukuro and when we regrouped afterwards everything started to go downhill.
We walked to the Za-Koenji public theater by Toyo Ito nearby and while we were there one of our group members fell and twisted her ankle and couldn't walk. Someone carried her to a drug store and our teacher kindly got her a nice umbrella so she could limp and use it as a cane. So then we went straight to a pharmacy to get her some ice and a wrap and another person started getting really sick. So we had one person limping with an umbrella cane, and one person throwing up in the street and somehow we still all managed to walk and go see some more architecture.
I was actually really happy to see House NA by Sou Fujimoto despite all of our issues. We had seen the models he constructed for it a few days before and this house was much more amazing in person to me so it was really cool to see it and the owner of the house came out to talk to us.
After this we decided to go back to the hotel before anything else went wrong. We got all checked in and we each have our own hotel rooms for the week. It's a very nice room, but bathrooms here are all very small. You have to get used to showering with your sink if you are going to be staying in Japan.
