Just some more views of the neon. This was a crazy first night so I can't even imagine what is in store for us tomorrow.

Day 1: Osaka at Last
Finally made it into Japan! It was not easy going through customs and immigration, didn't think I was going to make it. But I'm here and this is definitely the most insane place I have ever been to. I landed in Osaka around noon and met up with my class group before my phone died. But then my phone died and I couldn't take any pictures. But we had quite the journey trying to get all of us from the airport and to the hotel. I think this is about a 15 minute train ride but it took us at least 2 hours to get there. We arrived at the hotel around 6, but all safe and sound and not a single person in our group got lost along the way.
After we all settled into the hotel we went to "dotonbori" or the neon district. This was really my first experience just walking the streets of Osaka and seeing all of the shops and it was completely insane. Just so many people everywhere and bikes swerving in and out of all of the streets and roads, and everywhere you look there is another road or an alley and I don't know how people can ever find anything around this place. But we had a great time and went out to dinner and enjoyed just walking around. It was hard enough just trying to order food and paying for it with yen that I haven't ventured into any of the stores yet.
