I personally believe this was the hottest 4th of July on record. Over 100 during the day, by 9pm it was still over 90* outside.
This is an image from the fireworks show in community park. The entire Davis community was out last night watching the fireworks and every inch of lawn in the park was covered. I am pretty sure this is one of the biggest community events in Davis, besides maybe picnic day this is the only event where it feels like the entire community is there. I have some good memories as a little kid going to the fireworks, buying glowsticks and taking an hour to drive 3 miles because of the traffic rush after the show. The show starts at 7pm every year with a performance bySkydance Skydiving. Definitely did not get there early enough for that this year and it was way too hot to be outside at this time anyways. Fireworks start at 9:30pm, just in time for the mosquitoes to come out!
