Happy 4th of July!

This is my 18th straight year of being in Davis for the 4th of July. After 18 straight years of not waking up early enough to watch the annual parade I decided this was the year. Totally worth it.

Every year Davis holds the 4th of July kiddie bike parade. All the children of Davis decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons, electric vehicles, etc. and line the streets to participate in the parade. I was once one of these children. At the end of the parade there are prizes awarded for the best bike decorations.

After the kiddie parade their is a legit bike race downtown. Its pretty cool to watch. I don't really know what it is for but it goes on all day long. I feel bad for all the bikers because its supposed to get up to 102* today. So that sucks.

Not one of them stopped at the stop sign... where are the bike cops when you need them?

So much American pride in Davis it makes me so happy! Proud to be a Davisite!
