So I went exploring on my own this morning to take a few more pictures of the royal Shakespeare theater and also both the guild and trinity churches. After walking in the rain I needed some retail therapy so I went by a bank to get some pounds out so I could go crazy. I bought a few things at a souvenir shop and went looking around some clothing stores. After this I didn't feel much better so I went to some weird Polish store to get myself a donut. This was quite honestly the most amazing thing I have ever tasted. It was so good and I was so much happier after this.
So after the delicious breakfast I bought a ticket to tour the house where Shakespeare was born. A picture of the house is below. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the walk through the garden. I also learned a lot about Shakespeare and his family and inspired me to read some more of his plays. Well, maybe.
Once the tour was over and I wandered around the gift shop I was once again hungry. I got a nice coupon to the museum cafe with my ticket so I decided to eat my lunch there. I ordered a sandwich and it was amazing. Totally worth it.
We dilly dallied through lunch to wait for our train which would take us into Bath. Plus it was raining outside so we decided to sit in the cafe for a few hours rather than go outside.
But finally it was time for the train so we made the trek over to the station. It took us 3 stopovers with 4 different trains to finally get to Bath. Ug. We finally made it like 4 hours later and it was still raining. And at this point I was not a happy camper.
We are staying with one of our friends from UCD who know lives in Bath so we walked to his house from the station. Luckily it was a very short walk. Once we got to the house we chatted for a bit and then went to get some dinner. We walked to a cute little cafe with a really weird bartender. But I ordered some soup which was very good. So overall today was probably the best food day I have had so far.
After dinner I was so exhausted. We watched a little bit of tv and now I am off to bed. Goodnight!
