Celebrate Davis!

Tonight for the first time ever I attended the annual "Celebrate Davis." Apparently this has been going on for the past 10 years, but this is the first time I made it there. This was actually a really fun event, geared towards all ages and all Davis people. 

The festival had several rows of booths set up containing many of the services and businesses in the city. Many booths were giving away free candy or prizes. Not without a catch though. Apparently people can't just give stuff away anymore... You have to spin a wheel or throw a ball through a hole or something. Both of which I am terrible at so I only got really crappy prizes. That's ok though because they also had a petting zoo so I got to pet some adorable animals Ike this little baby pig to make me feel better. 

Besides booths and prizes the event had a live band, lots of local food and some rides and games for the kids including a mini zip line! Pretty cool. And of course... Only in Davis would there be this:

The event wraps up around 9pm tonight with a fireworks display, which will be heard from all over the city.
