Today was the day to say goodbye to our group and head off for a little adventure of my own. As it was my final day in our wonderful hotel in Ikebukuro I had to get the pancakes one last time. As I was eating I said one last goodbye to all of my classmates who were headed their separate ways before I headed out by myself. I didn't have many plans for the day, just wanted to make it to my hotel that was my home for the next few days and do a bit more shopping to find a few final souvenirs. I am so excited to finally be heading to Disneyland, but also a little bit sad because it means that the entire trip that I have been anticipating for so long is almost over. I managed to navigate all of my trains correctly, and it took about an hour to reach Maihama. I was too early to check into my hotel room, but very thankful that I was able to drop off my bag. With a few hours to spare I headed back into the city for shopping! I went back to Ginza to shop at "Tokyu Hands." This store was gigantic and had everything you could imagine. Stationary to kitchen supplies to kids toys, you name it. I finally got my one pair of chop sticks that I wanted to have as a souvenir, and also my MUJI pens! After awhile in Ginza I wanted to go back to Shibuya one last time.
I walked around a ton of stores but luckily didn't find anything that I couldn't live without. I enjoyed all of the scenery and watching all of the people and took a lot of photographs instead.
I stopped for dinner in a mall at a little tempura shop. I got my first bento box of the Japan trip and loved it. Also got mochi deep fried ice cream for dessert which was SO good. I'm really going to miss the desserts in Japan.
After dinner I headed back the long journey to my hotel room. I am very proud of myself for not getting lost and managing to navigate all of my trains really well. Made it to the hotel and checked in. The hotel is pretty nice and I have a view of the park fireworks. Headed to bed pretty early to get ready for a very exciting day tomorrow!
