Day 31: Tokyo Disneyland!

I think the last time I was this excited to go to Disneyland I was about 6 years old. I woke up super early today to get myself ready to head to the park! Luckily my hotel was within walking distance and I was able to walk there in about 20 minutes.

I got there so early the park wasn't even open yet and I had to wait in line to enter. Unfortunately even though it was early in the morning I was already dripping wet from the humidity. I would rather have it super hot than raining though!

I finally made it into the park after a very uncomfortable wait and it was pretty crazy how similar it was to Disneyland. I felt like I finally knew my way around something! The layout of the park was pretty much the same as back home so it was actually easy for me to find things. And none of the rides had any wait times!

After spending a few hours in the park I started to realize what types of souvenirs were really popular and what kinds of things they didn't sell back home. And I started to recognize these little bear bags and backpacks and stuffed animals. And I was like what the heck is up with this? I soon realized it was the "Duffy" bear that we had in California Adventure that was just about the lamest character in the world, but here he was everywhere! Every man, woman, child, baby, elderly person... Had some sort of Duffy merchandise. So I decided that's it, I guess if I want to fit in I better get myself a Duffy bag. So I went into every single store there and couldn't find anything with Duffy on it. I was actually getting really frustrated, so I finally decided to google it and found out that Duffy merchandise was only sold in Tokyo Disney Sea. So all of these people had bought their merchandise at the other park and then brought it over to Disneyland! It was just insane how much of it there was everywhere. So I gave up on my quest for Duffy until tomorrow and continued going on rides.

Here is a listing of my day in order:
1. First ride of the day was Roger Rabbits cartoon spin and getting to see Mickey and Minnie's Tokyo residence.
2. It's a small world
3. The haunted mansion which only had a 10 min wait. It was also a lot scarier from not knowing Japanese.
4. Stopped at the great American waffle company for a Mickey shaped waffles breakfast
5. Star Tours with a Japanese speaking C3PO
6. Pirates with only a 5 minute wait.
7. Space Mountain
8. Waited forever in line to have my picture taken in front of the castle and was covered in sweat by the time I finally got to the front of the line. Their castle was so beautiful, I loved it.

9. Got a Dole Whip! Aka "mango boba"
10. Watched the "Happiness is here" parade and got blown a kiss from Asian Bert!

11. Western River Railroad
12. Got curry flavored popcorn, yum
13. Went to the Tiki Room
14. Mark Twain Riverboats
15. Got honey flavored popcorn
16. Watched Mickeys Philharmonic show and took a little nap in the really comfy seats.
17. Teacups!

18. Ate matcha ice cream
19. Watched the electrical parade and it was so cool!
20. Got in line to watch the fireworks and waited so long to keep my good spot just to have them announce that the fireworks were cancelled due to "wind"
21. Went on the monsters inc ride to cheer myself up and it was a lot better than the one in LA.
22. All of a sudden the fireworks were back on but I lost my good spot and couldn't see anything. But they projected images all over the castle and it looked really pretty.
23. Did a little bit more souvenir shopping to end my night and headed home to get some rest. Can't wait for Dinsey Sea tomorrow!
