Blarney Castle

We began our 5 day Ireland bus tour early this morning from Dublin. Our first major stop was to see Blarney Castle and give each of us a chance to kiss the famous Blarney stone. I have been looking forward to visiting this castle for years and I was so excited to finally get to kiss the stone, which has been said to give people the gift of eloquence.

The castle was very beautiful, and of course I forgot to take a picture for the blog. Oops, but I do have pictures I will upload once I return home. We entered the castle to travel to the stone and we had to climb a very, very long spiral staircase. It was very awesome, but I seriously think it got narrower the higher up you went. But we fit through it and made it to the stone and leaned back and kissed it while a true Irish man held our feet, as seen in my picture.

We got to explore the grounds of the castle where they has a large variety of gardens including a fern garden and a poisonous garden. We were short on time however, and I missed a whole section so I am determined to come back here one day.

That was the true excitement of the day, after that we ended in Killarney and explored the city for a bit before heading out for a night on the town.
