So I woke up fairly early, everything was fine, I was just a little bit sad about leaving Edinburgh. Got a train to take to Glasgow, which of course was late. And looking back I should have just taken that as a sign and just run for it. But no, I got on the train and subjected myself to the beauty of Glasgow.
Arrived there and it was pouring down rain. Luckily the hostel was easy to find and I got all checked in and put my loads of luggage down. So my travel buddy and I got a tourist map at the front desk to figure out what the heck we were going to do. So we look at the map, and literally nothing. So we just decide to walk around because we are sure there is just plenty to see in Glasgow. So we start walking, and nothing. And it's pouring and it's cold. Luckily we find a chocolate shop and we sit in the window drinking hot chocolate waiting for the rain to calm down.
The rain finally stops, we walk around some more, still nothing. We stop for lunch and drag it out as long as possible because we honestly cannot figure out how the heck to occupy our time. After lunch it is still pouring and we are miserable so we decide to just go to the bar at our hostel to use the wifi. We hang out and the bar for a really long time and luckily we were able to get into contact with a friend we met back in Edinburgh who is also staying in Glasgow for the night. So he comes to meet us an honestly we feel like we are saved from the hell that is Glasgow. We are sitting in the bar taking about our future travel plans and we find out that all of us are on the exact same flight to Dublin the next morning. We also find out that the plane leaves at 7am, meaning we would have to get there around 5am, meaning we would have to get a bus there around 4. But no bus runs that early. Cabs are rediculously expensive, so we decide to take a train. The only problem is the only train that would get us there leaves at 12am.
So we have a lot of time to kill before we can get on a train to take us to the beautiful Prestwick airport. We decide to splurge tonight and treat ourselves to a nice fancy dinner to pass the time. So we ate Indian and enjoyed some wine.
Our walk home from the restaurant was the highlight of my time in Glasgow because we stopped by King Tuts bar. This is the place where supposibly my favorite band the Verve got their start so I was very excited. Of course I took a picture.
