Cliffs of Dover

Woke up this morning so excited to travel to Dover to see the white cliffs! I was also excited for more toast. Today I ate another six pieces and had some cereal.

But after out brekkie we traveled to the station to catch our train. It seemed like it took forever to finally get there. I took at least three naps on the train. It was totally worth it, however because the weather was beautiful in Dover and the cliffs were incredible.

When we first got to the stop we went to meet our two ozzie friends who very kindly decided to meet up with us for the day. I thought they were sick of us already but apparently not.

We all walked together along the shoreline up to the cliffs and we came across some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The water was such a clear blue color and there was no sand, just pebbles. The picture really does not do it justice. We spent a while on the beach just playing and I had to dip my feet in. The water was pretty cold.

After our stop on the beach we kept walking and saw our first view of the cliffs. We walked up to a little visitors center along the way to grab some snacks before we hiked all the way up to the top. I got my first white chocolate magnum ice cream bar and it was SO good. I am killing myself just thinking about it right now.

After this we started our climb up the side of a very tall mountain to get a better view of the cliffs. On the way up we also got a nice view of Dover castle as seen in the picture. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to actually go in the castle, but it was still very pretty. I even managed to trip and fall up the path while taking in all of its beauty. We finally made it to the top and could look out over the water to see the cliffs. You can see a picture of this as well. The cliffs and water were a very pretty color and we were so lucky to have such a pretty blue sky. I think this is the first day that I have been here that I actually got a little bit sunburnt!

When we were done enjoying the cliffs we made our way back down to the city. Once we finally got there we were so hungry that we actually wanted to eat anything in site. And of course the first thing we saw was a McDonalds. So we all got our food and took it to go and ate outside in the park. All I can say is that no matter where you go I think all McDonalds are pretty much the same.

Once we finished our very late lunch we were all exhausted so we got back on the train to take us home. When we got back into London I know we walked around the city for a bit but all I remember is the pouring rain. Needless to say we didn't walk around very long, and now it is time to sleep!
