and looked out the window I was literally ready to jump on a plane that would take me home ASAP. This constant rain is absolutely killing me, I miss the sun and the heat so much. :(
So I just slept in this morning to try and resist having to actually wake up and leave the house. So I didn't actually leave to go anywhere until 11.
The first stop on our tour of Bath was to see the roman baths. There was quite a long line when we got there but luckily there was plenty to look at while we waited. All of the architecture around Bath is so beautiful.
So we finally paid and took an audio tour of the baths. Pretty much this whole place is a giant roman spa that was created thousands of years ago around a hot springs. The water from the hot springs ranged from around 25-35* Celsius so perfect for a spa! The city of bath was pretty much built on top of this spa so they have spent the past years going on archaeological digs to uncover it. We got to see the main bath as well as a few smaller baths for both men and women and how the heating and drainage systems worked. They are currently still uncovering a lot more of the built structures, so a lot of the site has still not been released to the public.
But I thought it was still very cool and I had a great time. It was also really cool to feel the heat rising off if the springs. And in the end we all got to taste a bit of the springs water which is supposed to cure all of our diseases. We will see.
Once we got our money's worth from the baths we went back outside hoping the weather was better. Guess what, it was not. So we walked around the city anyways to take in as much as we could and try not to be too miserable. We went and saw the theater royal and also the royal crescent, which is a row of houses. We also saw a few parks, blah blah blah. After this all it was lunch time and I had about had it with the rain. We walked around looking for food for a really long time until I spotted a giant sign that said burrito. Heck ya I wanted a delicious English burrito. Or I just wanted to get out of the rain.
So I ordered my burrito and the people working there were very nice and asked where I was from. I told one guy I was from California and he asked if the burritos here were better than they were at home. I felt so bad telling him the truth. But the burrito wasn't really that bad, it was just mushy and had no flavor but I was so hungry I didn't care.
After lunch we just decided to walk back home and we stopped by the grocery store on the way there. I got a bunch of candy to make myself feel better. We also got some supplies for dinner so we could cook for the person who let us stay with him.
So we got back home, cooked some delicious lasagna and then went to the movies at a small theater in town. The theater was so cute, but the movie really sucked. So all in all I guess today was alright, but if the weather doesn't start looking up I might go crazy.
